The distro as a middleman: HPE's Debian derivative two years later - Debconf 16
NUUG
Another year has passed and HP's (now HPE) Debian derivative is another year older. In this presentation I will be talking about how HPE has been doubling down on Debian and the effects this has had on how open source software is being managed within the company. HPE Linux has consolidated many functions previously distributed (and duplicated!) within HPE, and is now acting as a middleman or proxy between many internal and external parties. The idea of the distro as a middleman will be explored and how this can be used to promote or propose using Debian in other organisations. Talk (45 mins) session with Tim Potter during Debconf 16
