Yesterday we bartered with favors. If you do something for me, I will do something for you in return. Today giant tech companies has commercialised the favor for a favor economy. They have built strong platforms with algorithms to match two parties in a market. Uber matches drivers with people that need a ride, AirBnB matches people that are in need of a place to stay with people that are renting out their apartments. They call this the sharing economy, but there is no such thing as sharing in it. Tomorrow, we will build the true sharing economy on decentralized platforms that is owned by the people and not giant tech corporations. We will build platforms where the value is not extracted by a third party, but distributed right back into the network.
